Show B Satin Angora Judging at Merced

The beautiful Satin Angoras are waiting for their terms to be judged in show B.

Casey is the proud mama of the Satin Angoras.

Casey listens to judge Cathy's comments.

These Satin Angoras are still very young, they are juniors but being shown in the senior classes.   It's more important to get the comments than the legs.

Judge Cathy Szychulda really likes the white doe.

This is the BOB Satin Angora.

Teresa Visits at Merced

After Angoras are done with show A judging, it's such a pleasant surprise to see Teresa appears in the showroom!    Teresa is the CEO of the Merced County Fairgrounds.   She works hard, 6 days a week!   She takes some time off from her office to come visit us.   If you recall, Teresa fostered Bao Bao and Bei Bei in 2022, and I'm the lucky one who received the trust from Teresa to be Bao Bao and Bei Bei's mom.

Pretty Teresa and pretty Camellia.

Ray is the superintendent of the BVRA show.  Two responsible people having some high level discussion on future plans of rabbit shows.

Monique a Peacock?

Monique is almost 4-1/2 years old but still able to come back with a beautiful coat year after year.
She wins BOB regularly even though she is old enough to be great grand mother of many competitors on the table.

During the 5-show weekend at San Jose, Monique won 3 BOB in shows B, D and E.

It's time for a hair cut, of which Monique has had experienced many times before.

If cut is close to the skin and carful not to pull, the coat can be described as a "wool fall".

A big and long "wool fall".

Doesn't Monique look like a peacock?

Show E Best In Show Judging at San Jose

Show E Best In Show judge is Chris Zemny.

This is the last Best In Show judging of the weekend.

The BOB Britannia Petite has its attitude.

The Britannia Petite showing off.

The Tan as a running breed runs up and down the table.

Judge Chris has favored the English Angora white senior doe in the breeding judging so having the colored on her Best In Show table is highly disadvantaged.

French Angora being examined.

Judge Chris picks Lillian Bearden's Mini Rex as the Best In Show.   This is Lillian's first ever Best In Show win.

Alysia's Britannia Petite is the Reserve In Show winner.

This post concludes the reports and photos of the San Jose weekend on April 6-7,2024.
